Company Profile: Our Client is a subsidiary of a Group of Companies that is one of the largest manufacturers that provide innovative products and services to the steel industry

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer – Steel Division

Job Purpose: the job holder will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to exploit business opportunities in the Steel Industry

Main Responsibilities

  •     Planning, implementing and coordinating of sales activities
  •     Undertake  business analysis and scenario planning for new business opportunities
  •     Monitor and advise of significant developments in the competitive business climate, government and legislative activities that may impact the business
  •     Undertaking business development researches that include specifying marketing segments , monitoring competition activities and SWOT Analysis
  •     Develop strong partnership with distributors and key customers and initiate joint marketing opportunities

Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  •     A Business related degree with a bias in Marketing
  •     Ten years relevant experience with an established track record of Sales ; preferably in the Steel Industry .
  •     Experience of selling to Companies at Director level in the Upper and Middle Income Markets

Regional Sales Manager Vacancy in Kenya

 Regional Sales Manager (Gross Salary 200-250k)

Our client is a  London based company  that has been in operation since 1977 and deals with packaging raw materials i.e. coated steel, aluminum , plastics and paper and is looking for a Sales Manager to handle the Nairobi Region.


Roles  and Responsibilities

  •     Provide regular analysis of market potential for imports of various products listed above for enamellings into the market place. Thereafter to conduct desk and field research to identify sales potential in the region.
  •     Target stable medium to large-scale fabricators / service centre / end users and, negotiate with customers to ensure that sales are made at optimum price levels with acceptable profit margins and with commercial conditions that minimize risk and maximize market presence.
  •     Provide monthly progress reports detailing business development prospects, current enquiries and all other relevant data to assist London office to conduct risk analysis assessments where necessary
  •     Develop and maintain customer relationships and engender goodwill, for business growth.
  •     To achieve the mutually agreed sales targets
  •     From time to time, conduct appraisals on other possible markets such as West Africa, where a potential product roll out is envisaged to similarly strong and financially stable customers.
  •     Take an active role in dispute resolution and mitigation of any claims which may from time-to-time arise.

Key Competencies
  • The successful candidate should be a self starter who is flexible and creative individual willing to work on its own merits and eager to learn.
  • He should have min 2 years of experience in dealing with customers in the Africa (or any other country) and should be associated with Sales.
  • Preferably he should have some knowledge of UCP 2010 or 2000, shipping, export documentation.
  • He should be computer literate and must have good knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • As the company does not have an office yet ,the individual should be willing to set up an office.
  • He should be able to travel frequently to visit customers and suppliers.
  • Full training will be provided by the company and initially travel arrangements will be arranged to visit customers in the various countries.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Sales / Marketing / Business Administration or Commerce or in the technical field.

Main Function:

This is a key sales leadership position for the catholic owned Media houses and an established cluster of Radio stations and a countrywide newspaper.

The position will be for an initial 6 month contract with an option for renewal

The holder of the position will be tasked with formulating and implementing a Marketing Strategy for Waumini Communications Limited, its subsidiaries, newspaper and Radio brands, and the control of the marketing department to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goals

Job Functions
Guided by the Catholic Ethics in Advertising ;

  •     Lead the sales team in generating new business accounts and increase revenue to the company
  •     Design and deliver top line revenue and meet targets as agreed with the supervisor
  •     Provide accurate forecast of monthly and quarterly revenue to the director and other relevant officers and formulate ways to achieve the targets
  •     Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers
  •     Identify marketing opportunities and competitor analysis with the aim to improve the marketing of the company brands and the effective promotion of increase audience and listenership of the company’s stations.

Qualifications/Required Skills/Experience

  •     An understanding of strategic account management, newspaper and radio ratings, media planning
  •     Strategic management of inventory and rates
  •     Ability to forecast revenue
